There are 18 forms of traffic that we have identified, including Web 2.0 traffic that wasn’t around much a couple of years ago. But one of the most powerful forms of traffic in that list is bonus traffic. So, what is it?

Bonus traffic can happen in three different ways:

First, you can add a bonus to a product that’s launching or that’s already selling and making money. Be sure that when you’re choosing a product to ask about adding a bonus to that the product is in your niche. Also be sure that your product is compatible with the target product.

For example, if you are in the food niche and someone is selling a cookbook, you might offer a bonus about different kitchen tools that make cooking easy. Or, if you’re in the sports niche and someone is selling a video about the 10 greatest plays in football history, you may want to see if the merchant would like to include your free report, “The 10 Greatest Mishaps in Football History.” Either of these bonuses would be compatible with your potential partner’s product.

The second type of bonus traffic is when you offer a bonus to a book author. If you hear of a book launch coming up, you could contact the author and offer a bonus for buying their book. The same rules apply. The book has to be in your niche, and your bonus must be compatible.

The third type of bonus traffic is from giveaways. A giveaway is a big joint venture, whereby several marketers offer free products that people who join the giveaway can download for free. Giveaways usually have a theme and again, they’re always built around a specific niche.

All of these forms of bonus traffic are valuable, but the most valuable is the product bonus because the customer who will receive your bonus has already purchased something. If they really like your bonus, chances are they’ll buy your paid-for product, too.
