List Building Using Super Responsive Squeeze Pages
Landing page, opt-in page, squeeze page…they are all the same thing. Different people call them different things…I usually use the term squeeze page. The goal of a squeeze page is list building. Basically what it does is capture information about a visitor to your page. You drive traffic to the page, and have an offer…something of value that your visitor would want. In exchange for your gift or report, your visitor fills in their information. Boom…they are on your list.
Here are three tips to build super responsive squeeze pages.
Tip 1: Testing
One thing about squeeze pages that a lot of people don’t do is testing. A squeeze page is really, really easy to put up, but you want to make sure you are testing different things to get the most response out of your page. An obvious place to start is with the headline. The difference between the response to one headline over another can be HUGE and can be the difference between making a little bit of money and a whole ton of money.
You will want to start split-testing your pages, and this can be a really simple process if you use the tools that come with your AWeber or 1Shopping Cart account. You can also use Marketing Makeover Generator, or Ad Trackz, both work really well and are pretty inexpensive and easy to learn.
Tip 2: Use bullet points
Tip number two for building a very responsive page is to use bullet points. You should make each bullet point a very short statement about the benefit someone will get if they sign up for whatever it is you are offering. Make sure you don’t have huge long list of 10 or 12, you really only need 6 or 7. Also, keep this in mind…don’t put a lot of space between each point. What I have found is that when I have my bullet points really close together, people can read through them much faster and so they get to learn about ALL of the benefits I am offering them. This increases the opt-in rate. More info, more benefits, more opt-ins.
Tip 3: Be above the fold
And finally, try to keep your key benefits “above the fold”. What do I mean by this? Well, you want your information to be on the screen in front of your visitor without them having to scroll down to read everything. If possible, you should try to have your opt-in box above the fold as well, although this can be tricky, especially if you have seven bullet points. Think about it like this…the easier it is for people to “get” what you are offering, the more likely they will be to fill in your form, and the more people you will get signed up to your list…pretty simple.
No matter what you call them, the squeeze page is the tool for list building. To maximize your results follow these three simple tips to build a super responsive squeeze page.
