One very good way to get people to come to your list building page is by writing articles. Yet, you have to write them in a certain way with list building in mind, and the most important part of your article may not be where you think.
Number one is, have a strong call to action at the end of your article, in the author’s resource box. Leave people hanging. Give them some good information and get them really salivating over what you’re doing. Then leave people hanging. The only way they can get more info is by joining your list.
So a really strong call to action at the end of the article. How else? Have a highly, highly compelling headline for your article and name of your article. Really, your article is a lot like a sales letter that you get to distribute and put out there.
You need to get people really riled up and excited. One thing you might want to do is you might want to send an email out to your existing list saying, “Hey, what are your biggest questions about ‘topic’,” whatever topic you’re focused on right now. They’re going to tell you.
You maybe want to write articles on those topics. If your list has those types of questions then you can probably find more people to join your list that have those types of questions, as well. Does that make sense?
That’s the main deal that I would focus on is how you can, in essence, work with this concept in order to really, really roll it up and move.
Again, the main concept is getting your articles distributed to article directories that have something to do with your topic as well. There are more than 900 of them. Some directories are better than others. The top directories are probably Ezine Articles, iSnare, GoArticles, and Article Dashboard, but there are many more. Find directories that have an Alexa ranking of 100,000 or less, so you know that the site gets some traffic. I mean, what’s the point of submitting to a directory with a gazillion articles and no traffic? It just doesn’t make sense.
Writing articles and submitting them is a very powerful way to get traffic to your list building page. Ask your current list what they’d like to know more about and base your articles on those answers. Use a great headline, and put a strong call to action, driving people to your list building page, and BOOM! You have another source of traffic for your list building page.
