Disabled Veterans Teleseminar Training Series | Internet Marketing – Don’t Get the AdSense Boot

Disabled Veterans Teleseminar Training Series

Rick Burdo Here!

 I Say, Thank You

To All Our Veterans.

God Bless America

Because Google is the undeniable leader in search, it places a high value on the quality of its results. But Google is also the leader in the pay-per-click industry, which is so important to the Internet marketing community. Google want advertisers to pay for legitimate clicks from people really interested in the products advertised, and gets very cranky when the terms of service aren’t followed.

If you’re going to be seriously involved in Internet marketing, these are some things you must understand, if you don’t want to have your AdSense account pulled—not just for a while or a slap, but for life. Nothing hurts more than building a solid AdSense income to have it taken away because you’ve broken the rules, even unknowingly.

Here are some things to remember before getting involved with AdSense:

Google says you cannot: “…directly or indirectly generate queries, Referral Events, or impressions of or clicks on any Ad, Link, Search Result, or Referral Button through any automated, deceptive, fraudulent or other invalid means…”

What it means: You can’t put pages into any situation where you’re encouraging clicks. You can’t get other people to click on the ads on your site for you. You can’t use robots to click for you, and use any other type of automated service, such as a traffic exchange, to show these ads. Google records the IP addresses of clickers. You won’t get away with anything that is other than natural search and click.

Google says you cannot: “…edit, modify, filter or change the order of the information contained in any Ad, Link, Ad Unit, Search Result, or Referral Button, or remove, obscure or minimize any Ad, Link, Ad Unit, Search Result, or Referral Button in any way…”

What it means: You cannot manipulate the results shown in the AdSense template and you can’t hide them in any way. For example, if you were really smart and could devise a script that would hide all competing ads in your niche, that would be a huge no-no. You can, however, set your preference to omit certain results at the AdSense site by clicking on the “Competitive Ad Filter.”

Google says you cannot: “…frame, minimize, remove or otherwise inhibit the full and complete display of any Web page accessed by an end user after clicking on any part of an Ad (“Advertiser Page”), any Search Results Page, or any Referral Page…”

What it means: You can’t mess with advertisers’ pages (the pages shown after someone clicks on an AdSense ad). They have to be shown in full, naturally as they appear on the web.

Google says you cannot: “…redirect an end user away from any Advertiser Page, Search Results Page, or Referral Page; provide a version of the Advertiser Page, Search Results Page, or Referral Page that is different from the page an end user would access by going directly to the Advertiser Page, Search Results Page, or Referral Page…”

What it means: When someone clicks on an ad, they’d batter go straight to the page the ad is for, without any interference and without the end result being altered. Some Internet marketing people might think it’s okay to stick, a “thank you for visiting my site… buy this…” type page before the clicker gets to the advertiser’s site. Not allowed.

Google says you cannot: “…act in any way that violates any Program Policies posted on the Google Web Site…”

What it means: That pretty much says it all. If you haven’t read the Terms of Service at Google AdSense, get over there and read them, and do so periodically, if you want to keep your AdSense account.

An AdSense account can be awesome for your Internet marketing business, when you use it properly and don’t upset the Google ghods. Follow the rules, and over time, you’ll find that AdSense can be your Internet marketing business’s and your wallet’s best friend.

Internet Marketing: Press Release Traffic, Part 1

Rick Burdo Here!

A Proud American

that would like to Say,

Thank You.

To All Our Veterans.

God Bless USA.

Enjoy!

When Internet marketing, there are 17 great ways to drive traffic to any website, and one of the most powerful ways is through writing press releases and adding them to press release sites. So, just what is a press release?

A press release is the announcement of something important happening in your company. Maybe you’re launching a new website or product. Maybe you’re holding a special fire sale or someone in your company received a prestigious award. All of these are good reasons for writing a press release. The fact that you just posted to your blog is not. Save press releases for special events and people will take notice.

The reason a press release is so powerful is that they’re Google fodder, and in Internet marketing, Google is very, very powerful. We cater to the whims of Google because it brings the most traffic to our sites, and the traffic just converts better. Google is the current Internet marketing go-by in whatever you do. And Google just loves press releases.

Press releases are easily spidered, meaning that they’re text based, and search engine robots (called spiders) can easily navigate through the page. Both Google and Google News love them. If you write your press release with one keyword in mind (and it should be one you want your site to rank in the search engines for), the spiders will gather what the content is about and list your release in their results pages for that keyword.

Now, here’s the other great thing… Press releases provide search engine optimization (SEO) advantage for your website because when you hyperlink your keyword, it’s a one-way link pointing back to your website. Google counts those one-way links as votes for your site. All one-way links are counted this way, but when they’re from a site like PRWeb, which has a high Google page rank, that’s even better. The reputation of the page linking back to your site is great and you get some of that benefit. You can easily find any site’s page rank, if you download the Google toolbar or install the add-on for Firefox called “Search Status.”

Press releases are scanned by people in the media, who are outside the Internet marketing world, too. You could get some additional publicity if a local or even national newspaper, radio, or even television see your press release and want to know more. It happens every day. Media people are always looking for a new story, and press releases are a great way for them to find content. So, they spend some time looking through press release sites to get a story.

Not all press release sites are created equally, though. Before uploading your release, be sure to check on the site’s traffic by going to Alexa.com, which measures website traffic, and seeing what the PR site’s ranking is. If you see that it’s above 100,000, you may want to reconsider uploading to that site because it probably gets limited traffic, which means your release will have a low chance of being seen.

Those are some basic press release guidelines that apply to any Internet marketing business. In our next article, let’s learn how to write a press release to get your Internet marketing business seen…

Squeeze Page Secrets: Create a Great Headline

 Rick Burdo Here!

A Proud American

 would like to Say,

Thank You

To All Our Veterans.

God Bless USA.

Enjoy!

Have you spent a lot of time building your squeeze page? What did you take the most time with? The colors and construction? The images that you put on the page? The sales copy? Guess what? None of that stuff matters as much as one other element. What’s that? Your headline!

You can have the greatest looking page in the world. You can have the sexiest images in the world or the best sales copy, and none of that matters. When someone comes to your page, and sees a headline that’s flat, what are the chances they’ll continue to read on? Slim and none. They won’t. You could even put up an awesome headline with nothing but an opt-in box, and people would join your list. Of course, it would have to really satisfy that WIIFM (What’s in it for me?) need, but it could work if your headline was kick-butt incredible.

If you’re not a great copy writer, you can buy software to help you. You fill in some blanks to tell the software what you’re headline should be about and then it cranks out dozens of choices. Pick a few that grab you. If they don’t grab you, they won’t grab anyone else, either. But if you don’t want to use software, hire a copywriter to create some headlines for you and then, choose the one you like best.

You probably won’t come up with the best headline first time around, no matter how much you love it. You need to test these and track them before you’ll find just the right one. Do a split test and keep it up until you see that one headline is working better than the other.

In the traditional A/B split test, you’ll test two pages. Everything on those pages will be identical, except for the headlines. If you want to, you can put the two pages with different headlines into a rotator and advertise just one link. Or, advertise the pages separately. How you do it is up to you. But whichever method you choose, be sure that you can track the results.

Google Analytics is free to use and it’s open to everyone. Just go to http://analytics.google.com and sign up. You’ll need to put a bit of code onto your page, but the directions are pretty simple. If you don’t know how to do this, hire someone to do it for you. Then, you’ll be able to see how many visitors came to your site, and which headline caused them to opt-in, as long as you put the Google code onto your thank you page, after the sign-up, too.

You should probably advertise to at least 500 if not 1,000 visitors before you can decide if a headline is working. After that, you should be able to determine which headline works best. Then, either revise the headline that lost or choose another from the headline creator software and try that. Keep doing this. Repeat the process until you’re satisfied with your opt-in rate.

Remember to size your headline right, too. Some people have very wide monitors and if your headline isn’t sized properly, it will be running all across their screens. Instead, create a table of one row, one column, and put all of your data–the headline, the copy, and the opt-in box–into it, and size it to be 650 to 750 pixels wide. That way the headline will stay where you want it to be… in front of the viewer’s eyeballs.

Headlines can make people wonder, prod them, inspire them, tease them, or make then laugh. It doesn’t matter. You just need to pique their curiosity and get them to opt-in. Make them say to themselves, What comes next? If they do, they’ll probably opt-in to get the rest of the information. Keeping people on the edge is great, and makes for great list building.
