Don’t Squirrel Away! Recycle!

Are you someone who lives for the phone? Do you love doing teleseminars for your list or interviewing experts in your niche? Or is it just the thrill of being able to help someone by answering their questions? Well… Did you realize that you have a wealth of content sitting in some audio files, perhaps doing nothing?

It’s true.

The first thing you should do is to have the calls transcribed. It’s not inexpensive, with an average cost of around $2 U. S. for each minute of a two-person call. Multiple speaker rates are higher. So, if you have a 60 minute teleseminar, it can cost around $120 for the transcript.

Yet, inside that transcript is perhaps 4-5 articles. You can take the content, often “as is” and create articles around it. Then, you can upload the content, which because it has never been on the Web before, is unique content. And that’s what you want to help your search engine optimization advantage. Try to keep everything that you submit to the Web unique.

Create a Video!

You can take those articles, and knowing that search engine spiders can’t yet parse video, you can create a slide presentation and read the article into a voice recorder and make a video from each one. It will still be unique content. Just be sure that you create a unique summary for your video that is keyword rich and you’re good to go. Camtasia is an excellent software for this, but if you don’t have Camtasia, there are sites online that will allow you to create slideshow presentations and they’re free. One is Slideshare.com, which allows you to upload your presentations or create them.

But… you’re not done! You’re going to make that investment of time and money really pay. Set up a podcasting account at a place like Podomatic.com, and allow the teleseminar to become a podcast. Now, you have a channel where you can allow others to hear your calls, and you can attract subscribers to your list.

Add Social Marketing

Tweet it! Send out a tweet each time you upload a bit of content. Tweet articles, videos, and podcasts. Because of the difference in media, each will be unique and different and will satisfy each type of learner.

The last thing you should do is bookmark all of your content in the social directories. This will help you to get visitors who are interested in your niche.

All of these things work together to create a content machine! Keep doing those calls, have them transcribed, and then repurpose them in different forms for each type of audience. It will also help you to get search engine advantage from the backlinks to your site.
