When I started I didn’t know how to do a teleseminar, which is one of the reasons that I started the way I did. What I learned was that live teleseminars have a much higher conversion ratio and they’re an excellent way to build a list. In the beginning, I ended up recording a whole bunch of private phone conversations between me and someone else, the interviewee.

The cool part about that was that they were recorded, they were short—30 to 45 minutes—and they were going to go up on a webpage, and so, I still have people joining my list and listening to those calls at ListCrusade.com (http://listcrusade.com). The downside was that, though you have a recording of that, there was no urgency for anyone to take action, to buy anything during a recorded call. Still, to get to the calls, they had to join my list.

But a low conversion rate is the case with most recorded calls. There is very little urgency. Why would someone do a call, record it, and then just make that recording available as a primary marketing tool? It’s not a primary marketing tool. It is a backup strategy that you can use to generate more sales and get more people on your list.

Very rarely will a recorded call generate as many sales as a live call will, in my experience. The other thing is that in a live call, you can easily get away with 60 to 90 minutes. It’s pretty hard to keep someone’s attention that long on a recording on a webpage.

Finally, with teleseminars I get to do them live, get people on the calls, and move forward. The way that I did it before, I spent weeks doing the recordings before I was able to start making any money, and though they helped me to build a huge list, nothing happened until all the information for the first call was in place. There was the recording, the squeeze page, and I was doing most of this myself. Nothing happens overnight, not online or off.

But the calls are still viable. It’s free content. It’s great content. You learn a lot of good stuff from the recordings at ListCrusade. You can rely on them and it’s not very surprising. I generate some money from those recorded calls that are half-an-hour long that get delivered to people’s inboxes, but I don’t generate a lot. Still, by that time, they are on my list. So, they definitely have value.

I generate a lot more money and many more people join my list from teleseminars. All in all, teleseminars are great because you can do them live, you can make immediate money with them, you can build a list for them very easily for an event, and you can organize them one at a time versus having to have a whole autoresponder series ready when people join your newsletter or ezine.

Does that make sense?

Focus on building a list of people who care about the same thing as you do, whether it’s Internet Marketing or pet grooming. Then, write a blog every single day, in order to get search engine traffic, and put together press releases to spread the word about the news about what’s happening in the world of pet grooming. Keep on top of it.

Write one press release a day. Do one blog entry a day. In the meantime, build a list of people who care. Monetize the whole thing with something like AdSense.

If your niche is that important to you, then you need to have the most high-traffic website on this topic in the world, so go for it. Depending on where you are financially, if you can afford to just dive in and do it full force, do that. If you can’t, do it part-time but make sure that you’re working on marketing and all of the other activities you’re working on within your niche, in order to learn how to drive more traffic, build a bigger list, and get more readers for your message, right?

Then start finding good products, the ones that convert well, and the ones that have a comprehensive sales process. In the meantime, you’re still list building. Maybe you’re marketing a whole bunch of smaller ClickBank products in the meantime, in order to make money. You’re marketing your ClickBank products, you’re list building, and you stumble upon something that has a great funnel system of multiple products that you can promote, or one primary product you’ll promote and they’ll take over the promotion for the rest of it and pay you on affiliate commissions across the board.

To continue list building, start doing free interviews with prominent people in your niche, and promote that person’s product, which is always easier to set up. Call the person who owns the product and say, “I’d like to promote your product. Here’s what I’ve got–a list of this many, but I’m talking to these 10 other people. They’ve all already agreed to do interviews with me, but we’re switching the format around a little bit so we can be focused on helping you to sell your stuff instead of helping me to sell my stuff. How does that sound to you?” They’ll say, “That sounds good.”

Then you just go ahead and do it. When you do, you’re list building because these prominent people send a message out to their lists about your interview. When that person’s list goes to your main page, they sign up for the call and for your list, too. Then you do another seminar the next week. Then you do another one the next week. Does that make sense?

All of a sudden, for your list building efforts, you walk away with a 5,000 or 10,000 person list, or maybe bigger! A few simple steps, and you’ve got List Power!

Disabled Veterans Teleseminar Series | Internet Marketing: Another Google Shift

One of the most changing things in Internet marketing isn’t how sales letters are written. It’s not how videos are made or press releases submitted. It’s how often Google changes its mind. One day, you’re on the first page, and the next you may be nowhere to be found. It used to be that SEO (search engine optimization) people could just get links from anywhere in any quantity. Like, you could go out and buy a hundred links all on the same site and the search engines would think it was OK. That was then.

But things changed in the Internet marketing world when Google decided that it only wanted to see links from other sites in your DMOZ category. (DMOZ is the open directory at http://dmoz.org.) What that meant was that if you were in the health niche, for instance, you could get links in body building and even beauty, even if your site was about asthma. Paid linking was still OK, as long as you didn’t buy lots of links on one site or too many links that hit all at once. Google wasn’t happy about those things.

But since May, that fickle old Google has decided that linking is passe. Their newest algorithm shift said that they didn’t like link manipulation schemes. Hmm… That meant that they wanted sites to link naturally to one another. They wanted webmasters to find something really exciting on another site and just link to it because they could. Google decided it no longer wanted to see “links” pages, just for the sake of collecting links. We proved this to ourselves when our blog sunk to #536 from #4 overnight. When we realized it was because we had put up a links page on the blog, and took it down, Google loved us again. We went right back to #4.

Today, it’s all about content. That’s it! Makes it pretty simple, really. Google wants articles, blog entries with more than just a trackback, audio, video, images, and press releases. All of these will become much more important in the results pages. Important directory links may still be OK, but don’t waste time trying to get links from other sites. It just won’t help you.

Google has a new idea of what search should be, and are slowly phasing in what’s called “universal search.” That means that all the different forms of content mentioned above will soon be finding their way onto your search results pages. Since it’s Google’s job to give the best search results possible, is that a big surprise? No. Of course not.

Google leads the pack right now because they provide the most relevant search returns out there, and its good for our Internet marketing businesses because their visitors also convert to buyers better than all the other search engines combined.

Here’s the thing: Give Google what Google wants. Internet marketing is going to become more about filling your site with great content that your visitors will love, regardless of what niche you’re marketing in, be it Internet marketing or poodles. Add an articles directory to your site, and get some articles into directories. Just don’t promote duplicate content. Google only gives credit for that to one site, remember? But make videos that demonstrate a product, audios that give product reviews, and be sure to include pictures with “alt” tags that are keyword rich. Not only will Google love you for all this great stuff, but so will your clients. Happy clients means repeat visitors, and visitors that respect your recommendations and buy your products or services. That’s what it’s all about in Internet marketing, isn’t it?

So, what are the two options in Internet Marketing?

List building or failure.

It’s just that simple.

You build a squeeze page.
You get it up onto a server.
You send traffic to it.
People sign up for your list

Bang!

There are plenty of ways to send traffic to your list building page, too. You can:

Write articles about your niche
Write a blog regarding your niche
Use Pay-per-Click
Write press releases
Learn Search Engine Optimization

and there are 12 other ways that you can get traffic to that list building page and build an enormous list.

Before you started driving traffic, though, you set up an autoresponder and loaded it up with messages. You offer news, information, or tips about your niche, and you introduce the folks on your list to a product you can stand behind because you’ve tried it and love it. Then, you will make money.

Joining every free program out there won’t make you rich or you may not get ANY money at all. You must be willing to invest in your business, to get serious about creating a business of your own, to start list building. It’ just that simple.
