So, let’s say you’re an affiliate for some program or product. I’ve heard the question asked, “Is it OK to use a squeeze page first to promote it?”

Well, of course it is!

When you’re paying for advertising, nobody can tell you where to send the traffic, right? If you belong to a program or are promoting any product that won’t allow that, then get out of that situation, right now. You always need to be list building

What you do is what you would do for any other situation.

These are the steps:

Get a domain name.
Get a web hosting service.
Design a kick-butt list building squeeze page.
Add your opt-in box at the bottom
Drive traffic

It’s simple!

You can advertise the product or program two ways, which actually makes this tactic more powerful. What you do is use the affiliate page as the redirect, after someone signs up for the newsletter, report, whatever offer.

Then, load your autoresponder with four messages. Give people benefits of using this product or program or… give them useful information and then, in the P. S. , sell the product or program. It really depends on what it is.

Let’s say you have a list building information product to sell, for instance. If you want to sell it, you obviously have it, or if you don’t have it you should have it. Never sell products you haven’t tried and like well. It’s just not ethical. So, tell people why you bought it, how you used it, and how much you liked it, and why. Give the product a good recommendation, and concrete proof of how well it worked for you. Tell them how effective it was for your own list building purposes. Maybe feed the details out over 4 messages.

Or, let’s say you’re promoting baseball equipment. OK, so you write a short profile of Babe Ruth in the first one, about a huge World Series Game in the next one, and so on–whatever it is that turns you on about baseball, because it’s probably the same thing that turns other baseball fans on about the game. You live it. Give some of that same enthusiasm back. You’re an expert, if you’re truly following your passion, right? Then, at the end of the message, you tell them how this particular piece of equipment you’re selling relates to the story.

Not everyone is a great writer, so that’s OK. Hire someone to do it for you. Go to eLance.com and just hire someone.

Yet, never think that because you’re an affiliate for someone, you can’t start out with a squeeze page. List building is what this is all about. Advertise your list building page and build a rapport with your people. I’ll bet you sell a lot more and make money a lot faster.

If you’re an Internet marketing person who is selling an affiliate product, you get an affiliate link that leads to the product’s web site or sales page, right? Well, lots of people think that you can’t also be list building when you have that kind of set up. Guess what? They’re wrong.

Unless it’s specifically stated in your affiliate agreement, and the means you use isn’t illegal, such as spamming, you can use any means to sell a product. Generally, affiliate pages, emails, and so on are there for your convenience. They at least get 80% of the people moving, who might otherwise take no action at all. Here’s the thing: 20% of the people will be active affiliates, and they’re having greater success because they’re treating the affiliate program as part of their own businesses. They’re more creative, they get more sales, and everyone’s happy.

When you set up the list building page, give people a review of the product, for instance. Once people read what you have to say about it, they’ll be more inclined to sign up because someone else has used it and is readily sharing its benefits. Just be sure that you have tried the product and can stand by a good review, which can be done in 250 words or less.

Include information about how the product will benefit the user. Remember to point out where the product falls short, too. No product is perfect, and if you can point out a pitfall or two, your review will be more realistic. Give it too much praise, and it won’t seem real, so make it real.

Internet marketing expert, Tellman Knudson’s My Fist List is an easy step-by-step list building information product for new Internet marketing businesses. You will learn how to set up your own domain and web hosting services so that you can get your list building pages onto the Web quickly and easily. It also teaches you to build those squeeze pages without messing with cumbersome HTML. The best part is how to find a reliable autoresponder and how to set it up to make money for you on autopilot. My First List takes all the thinking and questioning out of list building for you.

The fact that the program isn’t free may be considered a drawback by some, but to do business, you really have to expect to spend money. Plus, it’s always been my experience that paid is better than free. You can look around the Internet marketing arena for free information, but why waste time? MyFirstList will have you up and running in only 9 hours.

I became an affiliate of this program only because I have used it and proved that it works. I’m already making money, and if you’d like to learn how, please fill in your name and email address for more information.

When people go to the My First List site, they’ll see another opt-in box, that’s true. They may be reluctant to fill in their names and email addresses again, but if you excite them enough, they’ll just do it. However, this probably will work better when your affiliate page is opt-in box free. People don’t mind giving their information again when they ‘re buying something. It’s expected. This is just an example.

After people opt-in to your list, they will get a “thank you” message that you’ll create as the first message in your autoresponder series, which will include a bit more information about the product or Internet marketing program and a link to your affiliate page. This system is easy to set up and will boost your list building efforts very quickly. Try it!

List Building: Why Some People Make Money While Others Don’t

So, you’ve got an idea for a niche in which to begin your list building efforts. You’ve researched the keywords and they rock. But now comes the hard part… that all-so-important list building squeeze page.

What’s the most important part of your squeeze page or ANY squeeze or sales page for that matter? Your headline! That’s what everyone looks at first, and what will make or break your list building efforts.

There are a couple of ways to come up with great headlines. One method is to write the first 10 headlines that come into your brain. Just write them. Don’t worry that #3 stinks or #8 won’t attract flies… Just write them. Then, look over what you’ve written and choose the best two of the lot.

Another way to create great headlines is to buy software that generates headlines for you. You feed some information in and a bunch of different headlines come out. You still have to choose the headlines from that list that appeal to you, of course.

How do you know if the headlines you chose are good or not? You test them.

Take the headline you like best and put it atop one list building squeeze page and take the one you like second-best and put it on top of another squeeze page, with the same copy. Remember, you should only test one thing at a time, and testing your headline is the best way to start.

After about 1,000 views of each one, decide which one worked better for list building, as in which one got you more names for your list? It’s pretty easy to set up a split test in most autoresponders.

If you aren’t using an autoresponder with this capability, you should be, but if you aren’t, you can also use a rotator. These are scripts that allow a different page to be shown each time a URL is clicked. You load the URLs of both list building pages into the rotator, and then advertise the rotator’s URL. You can buy your own rotator script, or you can join a rotator site. There’s no difference in how they work; it’s your preference.

Headline writing is an art and people who can write great ones not only get a better response with list building. This carries over to the subject line in your emails too, or to any other sales copy that you write for your list. Learn to write killer headlines and you’ll be very, very, very glad you did.

Disabled Veterans Teleseminar | Internet Marketing: If You Can’t Beat It, Swipe It

How many times have you sat down to write sales copy and just froze? You want to write something compelling, something that will make people just click on that “buy” button, but you’re stuck. You don’t have the first inkling of what to write or how to write it. Or, you just hate writing it. Maybe you’ve had so little success with your copywriting attempts in your past that you’re a little gun shy. That second problem is simple. Pay someone to write it for you. Yet, if you don’t have the money to do that, what should you do? Copywriting is a major backbone of Internet marketing.

One of the first things that any good copywriter will tell you is that you should “swipe” it. That means that you should take someone else’s successful copy and use it to write your own. That doesn’t mean that you should steal it by plagiarizing, but you can use it to write your own copy elements. This is a tactic that the great Internet marketing and direct marketing copywriters use all the time.

So, let’s take a very famous headline from copywriting great, Gary Halbert, which reads: “Now Revealed For The First Time Ever! The Amazing Blackjack Secret Of A Las Vegas Mystery Man!” This was a newspaper advertisement, but it can be applied to Internet marketing, as well. Pretty exciting headline, right? Well, what if you’re in the golfing niche? Take Gary’s headline and rewrite it this way: “Now Revealed for the First Time Ever! The Amazing Arnold Palmer’s Proven Golf Swing Secrets” or Jack Nicklaus or whomever. But you see? You can take elements of copy and just rewrite them for your niche and make them your own.

You can do this with long copy letters, too. Just be sure that you’re rewriting the copy, not stealing it. Here’s an example of swiping a paragraph that reads: “Shortly after I started out as a professional baseball player, I got one of the biggest shocks of my life. That was back in 1907. I was playing for Johnstown, Pa., in the Tri-State League, I was young and ambitious–wanted to get to the top–and what happened? I was fired.” So, what if your Internet marketing niche is selling golf equipment? It’s sports related, but not baseball, right? OK… Here’s how you change it: “Shortly after I started out as a golfer, I had one of the biggest shocks of my life. That was back in 2001. I was playing a lot of golf here in Virginia. I was young and ambitious–I wanted to play as a pro. I even enrolled in a golfing clinic, and what happened? I was asked to leave because I just couldn’t get my swing together. The pro pulled me aside and said, “Joe… You’re wasting your money. You’ll never be a golfer.” Well, don’t you want to know the rest of that story? Sure, you do. And people will read it and if you continue on with the swipe, your Internet marketing business could do very well.

So, you see? Writing copy doesn’t have to be that difficult. You can use successful copy that’s already been proven to work and rewrite it. Make it specific to what you’re trying to do, and see how well it works for you. You can take headlines from one letter and body copy from another. You can mix and match them–whatever works for you. Just don’t feel a huge weight on your neck when it comes time to write copy for your Internet marketing business. It’s what all the big-time copywriters do all the time. Why not you?

Internet Marketing and List Building: What Is Relationship Marketing?

 Disabled Veterans Teleseminar Training Series

Rick Burdo Here!

A Proud American

 would like to Say,

Thank You

To All Our Veterans.

God Bless USA.

Enjoy!

During one of my personal Internet marketing coaching calls, a student asked me about relationship marketing and how he could use it to create better responsiveness in his list. The way I see it is that you know your customer and he or she knows you. You know something about each other, and then you market according to that knowledge. But the thing about Internet marketing is that you can be list building until your list is more than half a million people, but if you don’t build a relationship with those people, and maintain that relationship in a special way, you won’t make much money.

Now, in any business, in any interaction, Internet marketing or otherwise, there is a relationship of some sort, but it depends on whether you’re talking about a relationship in terms of comparing two things or how two things are connected, or if you’re talking about a relationship more like a romantic relationship, a friendship, or a family relationship. There’s a certain depth to those relationships that’s important to Internet marketing, too.

Relationship marketing is one that has some emotional attachment, and it’s beyond all the hype and people just trying to sell crap, which is where many list building strategies just bomb. The kind of relationship marketing I’m talking about is when you go to a seminar and meet someone who’s on your list, for example, and you go out to dinner. You learn a lot about them, including the name of their pets. That’s an example of relationship marketing, because you’re connecting with someone on a personal level. With Internet marketing, it’s just not as deep, unless you make an effort to keep it that way. One great website that uses relationship marketing very well is www.Tut.com.

I’d like you to go to www.Tut.com, and I’d like you to go to “Notes from the Universe.” I’d like you to subscribe, and I would like you to fill out their long form that they have you fill out that has your birthday, your likes, your dislikes, what you’re working toward, all sorts of different things. You’ll get an email from them every day, and that email will tell you about your life. It’s very powerful. That, for me, is relationship marketing and what good Internet marketing is all about. You need to build relationships with the people you have been list building with. They need to know you and they need to trust you.

Then, I said to my student, “There is a big difference between a Coca-Cola billboard on the interstate and what we’re doing here right now. I mean, we’ve never met in person, right? Yet we talk at least once a week during Black Diamond Line. You were part of my Traffic Apprentice program where we talked more. You’ve done work for me and my company. I’ve referred business to you not only from my customers; I’ve referred business to you from my friends and my colleagues. That is relationship marketing. Do you see the difference?” Then, I asked him when the last time Coca-Cola sent any business his way. He understood the difference immediately. Relationship marketing is how you should be focusing on list building in your Internet marketing business.

List building and communicating with your list in an automated way works, but communicate to them in a way that really speaks to them as individuals. Not to just whatever you decided you want to sell, but actually going out of your way to find out what it is that they need, and then addressing it directly. You can do this in a very simple form of an ASK campaign. But what if you did an ASK campaign that tagged those questions that the individual asked or the survey that the individual took to that individual’s record, the name and the email address?

Here’s the thing: You should try stuff just to try stuff and see if it works. Some things will work better than you imagine. Some things definitely will not. Use the good things and try to find a bond with your audience. Relationship marketing and surveying your clients is very, very powerful and it’s extremely important if you want to be successful with Internet marketing. List building is important but building a relationship with that list is crucial.
