There is a new plug-in on the market that has fast become the must have tool for bloggers everywhere.  It’s called WPSyndicator and was created by a clever chap named Andy Fletcher.  As you might realize from the name, this plug-in is made to help you syndicate your blog posts in a far easier way than doing it by hand.

What the plug-in does is syndicate an excerpt from your blog post onto up to 15 Web 2.0 properties all in one easy click.  The sites that it posts on are: WordPress, TypePad, Blogger, Vox, LiveJournal, Tumblr, Mulitply, Plurk, FriendFeed, Xanga, Identica, you are, Blellow and Bright Kite.  It will also send a tweet about your latest blog post at the same time.

Now, you do have to take a bit of time in the initial set up of your plug-in.  You need to create accounts at each of the sites, of course.  You can do this right through the WPSyndicator interface as the menu will take you through to all the places that you need to sign up for the various sites.  If you get stuck at all, there are some very handy videos that will guide you through the less obvious spots.  This will take you from 30 minutes to an hour, depending on how fast you type and how fast you can get through it all.

Once the initial set up is completed, it’s push button simple to syndicate your latest post.  And one of the best features is that you can choose which sites to syndicate to with each post.  For example, Identical and Blellow only take certain kinds of content so you wouldn’t want to syndicate a post that will be seen as spam to those sites.  You can easily turn those two sites off before you have WPSyndicator do its thing.

What gets posted to the Web 2.0 sites is an excerpt from your post and you can set the length to whatever you want.  By default, it will grab the first 500 characters which will usually average about 100 words.  With that excerpt, will be a link back to your blog that will be “Read more…” or you can set it to the keyword anchor text you want.  With the micro-blogging sites, such as Twitter, instead of the anchor text, it will have a shortened bit.ly link.

So what does this mean?  More traffic from those who read your material on the Web 2.0 sites and wish to read the rest of your article.  They’ll gladly click through to your blog to see what else you have to say.  More subscribers, because once they’re there, you will make sure they see your opt-in form, right?  And of course, more backlinks that show the search engines how popular your blog is.

Blogging and pinging, press releases, writing articles, doing Podcasts, or using AdWords. Choose one. None of them are the magic bullet. All of them can make you a million dollars–individually. You can get good at any one of those things and drive all the traffic you want for the rest of your life. (At least as long as it’s a viable traffic source. )

Meaning, you don’t have to be good in all of them. You need to start by being good in one of them. What we’re talking about are traffic streams. If you’re just building your first list, you may be falling into the same problem with traffic that people fall into when they think about multiple streams of income. They try to have 25 streams of income all at once, when none of them produce anything.

First and foremost, you need to build a list. So, if you’re going to do press releases, do a press release every day and link it to your list-building page. Press releases are just a way of getting a message out in front of people. AdWords are great, too, though. People make a lot of money with AdWords. But, test AdWords slowly, and see what gets you the most list members, first. If you want to take the time to figure that out, go for it.

Step one is to pick one topic to use AdWords for. Once you know what your topic is and have a squeeze page up to build your list, then if you want to drive traffic with AdWords, drive traffic with AdWords. Read Perry Marshall’s book, The Definitive Guide to AdWords, first. Don’t waste a bunch of money.

Or, you can use articles to drive traffic to your squeeze page, and get even more subscribers for your list. You can just yank components from your old newsletters to do that. As you do this, and as you start studying blogging and pinging and everything else, what’s going to happen? You’re going to start getting ranked in the search engines and indexed.

You don’t even need to think. It’s going to be a copy, a quick read of it to make sure it makes sense and is still applicable, and then paste. You could develop a whole new traffic source based on all the content you’ve already done, and it can all lead to your list-building page.

Blogging is going to do two things for you. Number one, it’s going to build your list because you’re going to have an opt-in box on your blog. Number two, you’re going to have links, which are your affiliate links.

Number three, you could include AdSense there or something like that and besides building your list, you could instantaneously–literally over night–you could have a brand new income stream.

Here’s the thing, right now, you don’t need to be worried about all that stuff. You need to be worried about getting one good squeeze page that converts well and adds new members to your list, every day. As you learn about traffic, then drive a hundred different types of traffic to your list-building page in as many ways as you can, so that you can make some money.

You don’t need to be worried about creating 5,000 squeeze pages for different uses. You don’t need to be worried about creating 5,000 different offers for different things. You need one good offer that you can drive lots of traffic to, so that you can build a tremendous list. Plus, you won’t have to do the work over and over again.

If you study one form of traffic at a time and as you master each of them, things get really cool. What ends up happening is you drive a whole bucket load of traffic to your list-building page, people think you’re the best, and you make a bunch of money in the process. How cool is that?

Thinking about writing in your blog every day may be stopping you from getting a blog started. Continually creating new and interesting content for your readers may seem like a huge task and obligation. But it’s not, really… Not when you think about creating new content from things you’ve already written and using that in creative ways.

One very powerful way is to go through however many back issues of your newsletter that you have and find tips, recipes, news announcements, reviews, or whatever. Take those and turn them into blog entries. Post every single day of the week, if you can. As you do this, and as you start studying blogging and pinging and Web 2.0 and everything else more, what’s going to happen? You’re going to start getting ranked in the search engines and indexed because search engines love new content. Then, you’ll get more people reading your blog and because you have an opt-in box on your blog, they’ll also be joining your list.

Most of the time, you don’t even need to think. It’s going to be a quick read of the information you want to use, to make sure it makes sense and is still applicable, copy, and then paste. You could develop a whole new traffic source for your squeeze page, based on all the content you’ve already done and are uploading to your blog. Then, link back to your list building page and BAM! You’re using content you’ve already written and using it to promote your squeeze page, too. When you link back to the squeeze page from your blog, that will allow it to rise in the search engines, and you’ll be getting traffic.

Of course, it’s also going to build your list right from the blog because you’re going to have an opt-in box on your blog. Number two, you’re going to have links, which are your affiliate links in the blog entry. Number three, you could have AdSense in there or something like that and you could instantaneously— literally overnight—you could have a brand new income stream. That will allow you to take the existing content that you have and convert it into multiple different types of income streams, including ClickBank affiliate links for certain types of products.

The best thing about all this is that you’re continually building your list and you’re re-cycling words you’ve already written. Professional writers do that all the time. They’ll research a subject, create a book or an article, and later, create another article or book based on the research they’ve already done. So, why not use what you’ve already created to build a mega-list? It’s a smart way to go.

The only thing you want to avoid is duplicate content. Don’t recycle stuff that’s already on the blog or the search engines won’t like it. Take things you’ve written to your list, or things you’ve offered as free reports, or anything but what’s on the blog already. That won’t help you; it will hurt you, and that goes for any site you have.

Coming up with good content for your blog can be easier than you think, if you use what you have and repurpose it wisely. Constantly be looking for ways to use old articles, reports, or anything else you’ve already done and use it to keep your readers reading. Blogging as often as you can will be very, very powerful.
